Ending planned obsolescence to end e-waste

On planned obsolescence (personal illustration)

Thinking of how I have a phone in perfect conditions that soon will no longer have its software updated, for literally no reason. I've only had it for three years.
Planned obsolescence wastes money and resources. It worsens consumerism and nature exploitation. People don't need a new phone (or television, tablet, washing machine, or a car) every year.

We live in a finite planet, and it makes no sense that we keep on exploiting it to build things that will be discarded after such a short period of time.

We need things that last and that can be fixed.
